Student Speak

Pratham Books recently launched a book 'Cauvery' and had a range of contests for students.

Here are some of the things students had to say:

Water conservation is necessary as water in the pure form is available only in small quantities and most of the water is getting polluted. The level of water is also going down.

The pledge was effective and conveyed a clear message to conserve water. We can conserve water not just by taking a pledge, but only by following it. I will conserve water and make others aware of water conservation.

Water conservation is necessary because without water we cannot live; yet, water has no nutrients like carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It is colourless and does not have any taste. But we cannot spend even one day without water. After taking the pledge I have come to know more about the more importance of water in our life and from now, I will not waste water.

The waste water drained after washing dishes in the kitchen can be used for irrigation. Waste water should be treated so that it can be reused for washing vehicles, houses, irrigation for garden etc. we should not leave any tap open while we are brushing, washing hands etc.

In our homes, parents are saving money for the next generation, but why not save water? Water is more precious than money. Every drop is precious, so the way we conserve energy we should also conserve each drop of water. Water is a natural resource only obtained from rain, it should be conserved and saved for future generation. How can we conserve water?

1)    Rain water should be stored.
2)    Used water should be re-used for plants.

Water is a very essential part of our life. I pour the water leftover in my water bottle into a potted plant instead of pouring it down the sink. I shall conserve water while performing small daily activities at home, in the hostel, and in school. I shall not turn the water tap to the maximum volume, and shall control the flow.

Water is getting polluted in today’s world. People are dumping waste in water bodies. Holy rivers such as the Ganga have also become polluted. Water is becoming scarce. We should conserve it so that it can also sustain our coming generation. “Save Water, Save Earth.

After an eclipse, all the water stored in homes is thrown out and gets wasted. Ideally, the same can be used for cleaning and washing purposes.
